New Traveling Companions?

As you likely know after Claude’s last post, we didn’t get to stay in the UK thanks to those soldiers in black. They showed up and nabbed Claude and Lee, and they got me as well. I got knocked out with some kind of dart thing and when I woke up, Claude and Lee were no where to be found. There were a bunch of strangers around and I was dopey. I had this tube up my nose too, but I was too spacey to be bothered by it. I think they drugged me. In fact, I’m positive they drugged me. They were asking me questions but, with whatever they were giving me, what they said made no sense. I have no idea how much time passed before I woke up to Claude standing over me. “C’mon, let’s get outta ‘ere.” He said. We went to some hotel after that. Kind of a dive but after being a prisoner, I’d have been happy back in the storm-drain, especially given that Claude was with me.

After Claude nicked me some proper clothing (while I like orange, the jumpsuit they had me in was not comfortable), another deck of cards (the goons had taken mine), and some motion sickness pills (long story), we left the area. When we were far enough away, Claude told me about his new plan. Given how our last gig, with just the two of us, didn’t work out, Claude told me he thought we’d be safer if we joined up with a larger group, specifically the Sullivan Brothers Carnival. I am hoping they want me and have a use for me. Granted, Claude is THE invisible man and he’s good with his hands. He could either vanish onstage or do some slight of hand work for them. I certainly wouldn’t mind being Claude’s assistant. I know any decent carnival has someone to read fortunes, and being this is a MORE than decent one, I don’t know if they will need me for that. I must say I like the vibe. And, as Claude pointed out, we won’t be the only specials there.

I suppose, if they don’t need me to read tarot cards, I could run games if they wanted me to, or rides. I used to love those when I was kid. My favorite was any type of scrambler. While I wasn’t good at most games I used to cheer folks on and I did like to watch people play. I’m actually pretty good with the “air rifle” and not too bad with a water gun. I can also draw pictures from photos and occasionally from memory. While I did retire from nursing, I am still a nurse so I could do that type of work, though with the Carnival moving all over the place, I don’t know how getting a license would work. Claude noticed me blogging about this and thinks we could do a modified Karnak the Great scheme, having him scout out the audience and slip me info on them and I could “read” them. He likes to stay invisible. We’ll have to see what Sullivan Brothers Carnival has to say about it.
